Gathering Personal Details

This guide describes how to access the Trustap REST API for presenting and updating a Trustap user's Know-Your-Customer (KYC) information so that sellers can receive payouts from Trustap.

Parts

The full KYC flow consists of 3 main sections: identity details, identity documents, and payout accounts. Identity details consist of personally identifiable information (PII) such as name, address and identity numbers for a given country. Payout accounts are where the funds are sent, and are typically bank accounts.

Identity Details

Gathering identity details has a few moving parts, particularly from a user-experience perspective. It involves frontend validation, error highlighting for both validation (frontend) and verification (backend) errors, displaying of verification processes, and more. The Trustap API for identity details aims to support these aspects, and to minimise the work needed to provide an accurate and smooth flow through the identity verification process.
